About
I am a chilean Product Designer, Master’s Degree in Product Design Technologies, PhD student at the Institute for Biodigital Architecture and Genetics, Universitat Internacional de Catalunya -UIC- in Barcelona, Spain. My research field unfolded at the creative intersection of nature, computational design, and digital manufacturing technologies, integrating perceptions, emotions and well-being of all species on our planet, under the biocentric ecosystem approach.
I have experience since 2002 in product design, teaching, research and curriculum development at different higher education institutions. I have been an international speaker, a workshop instructor, as well as part of international exhibitions. I have participated in different international networks and societes such as SIGraDi, eCAADe, Digital Futures, among others. I have been actively involved in SIGraDi in various roles: SIGraDi 2024 Co-Chair (Barcelona, Spain), SIGraDi 2020 online conference Chair (Medellín, Colombia), member of the International Executive Committee (2021-2023), International Scientific Committee (2016-nowadays), and author. I am currently associate professor in the Industrial Design program at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana -UPB-, in Medellín, Colombia.
I love nature, photography and drawing, as well as traveling, learning about different cultures, food, and especially craft beer. I am fascinated by science fiction movies and prospective to see future scenarios for design. In summary, I love to enjoy life!!
